If you are like us, you probably have tons of books on screenwriting and virtually all of them have at least one chapter on screenplay formatting rules. So is there a need for this product at all? Yes.
The genius of this product lies in its visual format, simplicity, comprehensive coverage of virtually every formatting rule and situation, and its compact size that makes it easy to keep it handy in or around your desk without taking up virtually any space.
I mean, when you are trying to figure out the proper way to format an intercut phone conversation, or whether your character's dialogue should be listed as a "voice over" or an "off screen," you typically have to go over to your bookcase, find the book with the formatting rules, find the proper chapter, and then find the proper rule (if it even covers what you are looking for at all).
You've probably just wasted 10 minutes time when you could better use that time for writing -- not searching for answers.
All of the examples are clearly written and simple to understand. It is a very visual guide with color coding for all of the major screenplay elements (Action, Dialogue, etc.) and the answer you are looking for can be found in only a few seconds.
